Vitamin by Incubus from their album SCIENCE I’m born I’m alive I breathe In a moment or two I realize, that the sphere upon which I reside, is asleep on its feet. should I go back to sleep? I’m born I’m alive I breathe In a moment or two I realize, that the sphere upon which I reside, is asleep on its feet. should I should I should I go back to sleep? You stare at me like I’m a vitamin On the surface you hate, but you know you need me. I’ll come dressed as any pill you deem fit. Whatever helps you swallow truth all the more easily. We orbit the sun I grow up my open eyes see… A zombified, somnambulist society. Leaving us as vitamins for the hibernating human animal. Do you see what I mean? You stare at me like I’m a vitamin On the surface you hate, but you know you need me. I’ll come dressed as any pill you deem fit. Whatever helps you swallow truth all the more easily. And I wonder, will you digest me? Into the sleep machine I won’t plug in, in fact I’d rather die before I will comply. To you, my friend, I write the reason I still live, ’cause in my mind it’s set the vitamin is ripe to give Coming closer to another 2000 years you and I will pry the closed eye of the sleep machine You stare at me like I’m a vitamin On the surface you hate, but you know you want me. I’ll come dressed as any pill you deem fit. Whatever helps you swallow truth all the more easily.

@WhenYourRipe1blood1
FINALLY someone with exactly the same opinion as me.
come on then you fucking onion eating cunts!
Just ordered the album!
check out the band waking nelson
whats wrong with mainstream.. who cares man
@chris13295 yea sadly all my fav bands went mainstream
in reply to FLPman, most bands do change when they get up there, but your whole thought process would change when u have money and fame things that were important before may not be important anymore so everyone goes through that change when they come into fame or money its just one of those things
ya they were way younger in funus amongus this was their first mainstream cd
these guys were very young back then and just starting…obviously the style would change.
@haystacker1 or they ate more!!
yep, same thing with AFI
When a band gets more and more popular and wealthy and change (as many bands too)
it’s not necessarily selling out.. in fact the opposite
they carry enough clout to do what they want, grow how they want.. without the pressures of “making it”
@MrLongStory
if you really liked FNM you should check out Mr. Bungle!
I really like(d) Faith No More, too, Brandon, but I don’t think I’d be able to emulate his vocal style quite like you here. Good show.
Makes sense.
ah hahahahaha. lmao. awesome
Doesn’t matter why they changed, all bands change. This whole album is the shit and the new stuff is great too but this has alot more energy than their new music. They mellowed out alot.
i can promise you what happened is these kids stopped eating so much psychedellics and their brains calmed down a little bit and this is what happened to incubus
i thought that this was cool because this was the music evan was playing in final destination 2 when he died
its their choice if they feel like changing…personally…i love all their stuff so as long as they keep putting out amazing music im happy
I fuck bitches to this song.
Oh dude science is the bees knees. You get the great vocals with the intense music. With their newer albums you get the pretty vocals, and pretty music, but I think it lacks a lot of the intensity in this album.
Well. I only said that because you stated they ‘sold out’ toward the times. I agree with you that no band should change their sound to become more popular. But it isn’t certain that’s what Incubus did, is it?
I’ve personally never listened to this side of Incubus before. Kinda’ digging it myself.
I don’t care why they changed it. Also I never said it wasn’t 10000000% their call do make whatever kind of music they want. If I don’t like it though (which is my prerogative) I don’t like it. Well, and the vocals are still amazing, but it just has such a different feel than science. It’s not goofy and quirky and in your face, its more mellow and I don’t know I just like the energy in science the best of all their albums I’ve heard.
Maybe they changed their sound because they merely felt like it? To expand on their initial sound. They’re musicians. What they produce is their prerogative. Be it them ‘selling’ out or not.
Don’t know much about the band so I can’t say.
